HIIT, short for High-Intensity Interval Training, has been a well-known workout method for many years. It is time-efficient and effective. However, the techniques you see being categorized as HIIT are getting far away from the art that proved the it’s effectiveness as time passes by.

How Often Should You Do It? 

It is suggested that you do this type of workout around 1 to 3 times a week. This depends on your training’s overall volume. The reason for this is that these workouts take more time to recover.  

For instance, you will respond better if you only do an extra 1-2 HIIT sessions a week if you are weight training 4 to 5 times a week. Else, you won’t properly recover and every week you will not see a lot of changes to your body or progress with your training.  

There is a chance for you to add 2 to 3 sessions of HIIT every week if you only train with weights 2 to 3 times a week. 

How Long Shout It Be? 

Every person is going to be a bit different based on goals, training experience, and the type of the body. The truth is that there are 2 vital elements. How many sets you have to perform per session and how many days a week you have to do HIIT.

What’s the Best HIIT Workout? 

Shorter rest periods will require shorter workouts if you want HIIT to work for your schedule and body and result in health benefits and body transformation. All of this is done to maximize results and intensity. Long HIIT workouts with short rest periods will have a higher possibility of resulting in burnout and not achieving the desired goals.  

To make things simple, your rest periods will be influenced by your workout periods. So, you’ve got to ensure your rest increases as your workout increases.

Efficiency is the main thing about HIIT. There are a lot of methods to train. However, researchers are enticed by HIIT workouts since you can see excellent results in less time when properly done.
