We are pleased to welcome the Elkton Base Ball Club to our winery. The Club plays Vintage style baseball - no baseball gloves and with an old-tyme gentleman's umpire. From April thru October, they will play their home games at Terrapin Station Winery.
The Elkton Base Ball Club comprises two clubs - the Elkton Eclipse and the Cecil Club of Chesapeake City - who play 19th Century style base ball (yes, it used to be two words). These gentleman, along with various members of the Cecil County Historical Troupe, bring history to life - dressing, playing, and acting as folks did in the late 1800s.
The Elkton Eclipse have been the Maryland State Champions from 2007 - 2010 and the 2009 Mid-Atlantic League Champions in Vintage Base Ball. The Cecils, previously known as the Bohemia Eurekas, were an extremely successful new club in 2010.
Home games are played on either Saturdays and/or Sundays, which coincides with when the Tasting Room is open to the public. So, come on out to the Winery, enjoy a Tasting, Winery Tour, and some classic base ball. Remember to bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets and feel free to pack a picnic.
